This artwork by Jack Youngerman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work May Yellow sold for USD 37,500.00 (€ 33,368.93) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Youngerman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work August, 1966, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 93,825.00 (€ 84,155.53).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jack Youngerman erzielte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit May Yellow für USD 37.500,00 (€ 33.368,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Youngerman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit August, 1966 beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 93.825,00 (€ 84.155,53) versteigert wurde.
