Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jack Whitten achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Rib Series #2 sold for USD 201,600.00 (€ 178,612.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Whitten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Special Checking in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,369,077.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jack Whitten erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Rib Series #2 für USD 201.600,00 (€ 178.612,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Whitten erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Special Checking im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.660.000,00 (€ 2.369.077,31).
