Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Crystal Palace: For Jeanne Siegel by Jack Whitten was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 1,010,000.00 (€ 828,276.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Whitten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Special Checking, which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,369,077.31).
