Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Bhairava by J. Sultan Ali was auctioned at Sothebys in Mumbai in November 2019. It achieved a price of INR 475,000.00 (€ 5,991.92), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Admittedly, works by J. Sultan Ali have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vanraj-Nandi in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 47,880.00 (€ 40,773.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Bhairava von J. Sultan Ali kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in Mumbai zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von INR 475.000,00 (€ 5.991,92) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von J. Sultan Ali auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vanraj-Nandi im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 40.773,23).
