Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Costume Design For The Swan Princess In The Russian Tale by Ivan Bilibin was sold in the Russian Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in June 2018. The price achieved of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,539.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ivan Bilibin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tsaritsa Militrissa in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 150,500.00 (€ 210,738.94).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.539,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ivan Bilibin erzielen.
