Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Costume Design For Prince Igor by Ivan Bilibin was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in June 2013. The price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,966.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ivan Bilibin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tsaritsa Militrissa in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 150,500.00 (€ 210,738.94).
