It achieved a price of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,298.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Admittedly, works by Ismail Shammout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Al- Tariq (The Way) in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 173,989.24).

Die Arbeit Thirst (from the Tall Al Zaatar series) von Ismail Shammout kam im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.298,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ismail Shammout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Al- Tariq (The Way) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 173.989,24).
