Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Encounter in the Prison Cell by Ismail Shammout was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2019. The price achieved of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 60,896.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ismail Shammout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Al- Tariq (The Way), which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 150,000.00 (€ 173,989.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Encounter in the Prison Cell von Ismail Shammout kam im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 52.500,00 (€ 60.896,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ismail Shammout mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Al- Tariq (The Way) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 150.000,00 (€ 173.989,24) versteigert wurde.
