Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ismail Shammout achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2018. In the Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Halo of Light sold for GBP 137,500.00 (€ 155,057.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ismail Shammout; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Al- Tariq (The Way) sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 173,989.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ismail Shammout erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Halo of Light für GBP 137.500,00 (€ 155.057,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ismail Shammout; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Al- Tariq (The Way) im Oktober 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 173.989,24).
