Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included this untitled work by Ismail Gulgee. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,941.04) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ismail Gulgee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman), which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 77,500.00 (€ 65,137.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ismail Gulgee zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 23.941,04) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ismail Gulgee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 77.500,00 (€ 65.137,00) versteigert wurde.
