Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Calligraphic) by Ismail Gulgee for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,299.82). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ismail Gulgee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 77,500.00 (€ 65,137.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Calligraphic) von Ismail Gulgee für GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.299,82) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ismail Gulgee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.500,00 (€ 65.137,00).
