Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ismail Gulgee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work without title sold for USD 63,000.00 (€ 57,947.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ismail Gulgee; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) sold at auction in November 2017 with the realized price of USD 77,500.00 (€ 65,137.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ismail Gulgee erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 63.000,00 (€ 57.947,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ismail Gulgee; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) im November 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 77.500,00 (€ 65.137,00).
