This work is one of the prints made by Ishiuchi for the purpose of her first solo show Yokosuka Story at Nikon Gallery, Tokyo; the exhibited print is held at Yokohama Museum of Art. As of this writing, the J. Paul Getty Museum and Yokohama Museum of Art each holds an early print, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York holds a later print. Early prints of Yokosuka Story are exceedingly rare.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Yokosuka Story #5 Nobikaigan by Ishiuchi Miyako was auctioned at Phillips in London in May 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,128.35). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ishiuchi Miyako - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Yokosuka Story, which sold at auction in May 2018 for GBP 106,250.00 (€ 120,990.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Yokosuka Story #5 Nobikaigan von Ishiuchi Miyako kam im Mai 2019 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.128,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ishiuchi Miyako mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Yokosuka Story beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für GBP 106.250,00 (€ 120.990,25) versteigert wurde.
