In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Landscape with horsemen halting at an inn by Isaac van Ostade. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 197,000.00 (€ 230,324.96), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Isaac van Ostade have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,833,250.00 (€ 2,204,276.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape with horsemen halting at an inn von Isaac van Ostade zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 197.000,00 (€ 230.324,96) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Isaac van Ostade auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.833.250,00 (€ 2.204.276,57).
