Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Travellers and peasants resting outside an inn by Isaac van Ostade was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,557.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac van Ostade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,833,250.00 (€ 2,204,276.57).

Die Arbeit Travellers and peasants resting outside an inn von Isaac van Ostade kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.557,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isaac van Ostade erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.833.250,00 (€ 2.204.276,57).
