Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work A winter landscape with figures skating on a frozen river by a fortified town by Isaac van Ostade. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,411.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac van Ostade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,833,250.00 (€ 2,204,276.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A winter landscape with figures skating on a frozen river by a fortified town von Isaac van Ostade zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 38.411,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isaac van Ostade erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.833.250,00 (€ 2.204.276,57).
