Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Village Street, With Ramshackle Buildings by Isaac van Ostade was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2019. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,730.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac van Ostade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,833,250.00 (€ 2,204,276.57).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.730,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isaac van Ostade erzielen.
