Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape With A Peasant Guiding His Wife, Surrounded By A Group Of Children by Isaac van Ostade was sold in the Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,297.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac van Ostade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,833,250.00 (€ 2,204,276.57).

Die Arbeit Landscape With A Peasant Guiding His Wife, Surrounded By A Group Of Children von Isaac van Ostade wurde im Januar 2020 in der Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.297,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isaac van Ostade erzielen.
