Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Irene Chou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2020. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work without title sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 20,243.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Irene Chou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Universe Lies Within, which sold at auction in June 2015 for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Irene Chou erzielte im November 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 20.243,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Irene Chou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Universe Lies Within beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.598,44) versteigert wurde.
