In June 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Abstract (1) by Irene Chou. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 106,250.00 (€ 12,203.94), 52% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Irene Chou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Universe Lies Within in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract (1) von Irene Chou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 12.203,94) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Irene Chou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Universe Lies Within im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.598,44).
