In the The Road to Rome: Property from a Distinguished Italian Private Collection, Part I auction, the work Venice, A View Of The City Under Snow With The Church Of The Salute sold for USD 460,000.00 (€ 424,667.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ippolito Caffi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma, which sold at auction in June 2007 for EUR 1,588,800.00.
