Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Interior Of The Colosseum Illuminated By Fireworks by Ippolito Caffi was sold in the The Road to Rome: Property from a Distinguished Italian Private Collection, Part I auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,619.65) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ippolito Caffi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 1,588,800.00.

Die Arbeit The Interior Of The Colosseum Illuminated By Fireworks von Ippolito Caffi wurde im Januar 2016 in der Auktion The Road to Rome: Property from a Distinguished Italian Private Collection, Part I bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 34.619,65) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ippolito Caffi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.588.800,00.
