Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Rome From The Pincio by Ippolito Caffi. The price achieved of GBP 85,875.00 (€ 100,401.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ippolito Caffi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 1,588,800.00.
