Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italian Fatima Di Smirne by Ippolito Caffi was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2014. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 60,861.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ippolito Caffi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 1,588,800.00.

Die Arbeit Italian Fatima Di Smirne von Ippolito Caffi kam im April 2014 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 60.861,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ippolito Caffi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.588.800,00.
