Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work The Moon of Dream, 2006 by Kang Ik-Joong. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,600.00 (€ 16,150.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kang Ik-Joong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moon Jars in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 95,518.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Moon of Dream, 2006 von Kang Ik-Joong zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.600,00 (€ 16.150,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kang Ik-Joong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moon Jars im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 95.518,78).
