Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Happy World by Kang Ik-Joong was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,875.00 (€ 15,535.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kang Ik-Joong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moon Jars in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 95,518.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Happy World von Kang Ik-Joong wurde im September 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.875,00 (€ 15.535,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kang Ik-Joong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moon Jars im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 95.518,78).
