In July 2020 Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale, which included the work J21A-10 by Kang Ik-Joong. The result of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 10,956.34) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kang Ik-Joong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moon Jars in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 95,518.78).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit J21A-10 von Kang Ik-Joong zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 10.956,34) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kang Ik-Joong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moon Jars im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 95.518,78).
