Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Orang Pinggiran Viii by I Made Djirna was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,222.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by I Made Djirna - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Demo I, which sold at auction in May 2010 for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 14,284.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Orang Pinggiran Viii von I Made Djirna wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.222,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von I Made Djirna mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Demo I beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 14.284,70) versteigert wurde.
