Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Gundam by Hong Donglu was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,365.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hong Donglu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tai Chi / Buddha'S Warrior Attendant in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 511,500.00 (€ 42,154.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Gundam von Hong Donglu im November 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.365,78) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hong Donglu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tai Chi / Buddha'S Warrior Attendant im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 511.500,00 (€ 42.154,07).
