Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Majorca by Humphrey Spender for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,150.66). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British and Irish Art at Sothebys in Olympia and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Humphrey Spender have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sails At Rab in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,967.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Majorca von Humphrey Spender für GBP 780,00 (€ 1.150,66) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art bei Sothebys in Olympia erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Humphrey Spender auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sails At Rab im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.967,18).
