Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Young Lady Laying On A Bed by Hugues Taraval was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 45,000.00 (€ 50,833.67). Other works by Hugues Taraval have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2000 by the work The Feast of Tantalus; and Phineus interrupting the wedding banquet of Perseus and Andromeda at USD 94,000.00 (€ 100,771.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Young Lady Laying On A Bed von Hugues Taraval im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 45.000,00 (€ 50.833,67) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Hugues Taraval wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2000 die Arbeit The Feast of Tantalus; and Phineus interrupting the wedding banquet of Perseus and Andromeda mit USD 94.000,00 (€ 100.771,87).
