This artwork by Hugo Wilson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in October 2021. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Hunt 9 sold for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 66,641.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hugo Wilson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hunt 7 sold at auction in September 2021 with the realized price of GBP 60,480.00 (€ 70,369.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hugo Wilson erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Hunt 9 für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 66.641,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hugo Wilson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Hunt 7 im September 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 60.480,00 (€ 70.369,32).
