Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hunt VIII, from: The Hunt Portfolio by Hugo Wilson was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. The price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,987.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugo Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hunt 7 in September 2021 with an auction result of GBP 60,480.00 (€ 70,369.32).

Die Arbeit Hunt VIII, from: The Hunt Portfolio von Hugo Wilson kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.987,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hugo Wilson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hunt 7 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.480,00 (€ 70.369,32).
