Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Small Shelf by Hugo França was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,627.13). Other works by Hugo França have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2015 by the work Large Shelf at USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,800.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Small Shelf von Hugo França im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.627,13) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Hugo França wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2015 die Arbeit Large Shelf mit USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.800,87).
