Despite a disappointment, a good price for Hugo França
When the work Large Shelf by Hugo França was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,800.87). Despite this disappointing result, Large Shelf is the most expensive artwork by Hugo França that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Hugo França
Als die Arbeit Large Shelf von Hugo França im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.800,87) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Large Shelf das teuerste Kunstwerk von Hugo França, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
