Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Portrait of Robert Cunninghame of Mount Kennedy, Baron Rossmore, bust-length; and Alexander Pope (Cork 1763-1835 London) Portrait of Anne Gordon, bust-length by Hugh Douglas Hamilton was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna auction at Christies in London in July 2019. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,293.80) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugh Douglas Hamilton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double Portrait of Mary, Countess of Erne, with her daughter Lady Caroline Crichton, later Lady Wharncliffe, full-length, seated, the former in a brown dress with a yellow sash, wearing a large straw hat, with a mandolin beside her, the latter showin in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 542,850.00 (€ 81

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hugh Douglas Hamilton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Double Portrait of Mary, Countess of Erne, with her daughter Lady Caroline Crichton, later Lady Wharncliffe, full-length, seated, the former in a brown dress with a yellow sash, wearing a large straw hat, with a mandolin beside her, the latter showin im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktio
