Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Travel & Natural History, which included the work The Governor-General's budgerow on the approach to Colna, Bengal; A Hindu village called Commercolly, with two Hindu temples on the bank; and A river scene in India with boats and native huts, Bengal by Hubert Cornish. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,501.00). Admittedly, works by Hubert Cornish have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lady Teignmouth's Garden House on the banks of the Hooghly, Calcutta. in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,813.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Travel & Natural History durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Governor-General's budgerow on the approach to Colna, Bengal; A Hindu village called Commercolly, with two Hindu temples on the bank; and A river scene in India with boats and native huts, Bengal von Hubert Cornish zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.501,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hubert Cornish auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lady Teignmouth's Garden House on the banks of the Hooghly, Calcutta. im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.813,74).
