Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Huang Yan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work Chinese Landscape Face Painting Series No.9 (Set Of Eight) sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,438.72) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huang Yan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tattoo Series, Plants, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,694.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Huang Yan erzielte im April 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Chinese Landscape Face Painting Series No.9 (Set Of Eight) für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 17.438,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Huang Yan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tattoo Series, Plants beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für GBP 28.800,00 (€ 42.694,97) versteigert wurde.
