Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Tide by Huang Gang was sold in the Boundless: Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2014. The price achieved of HKD 118,750.00 (€ 11,189.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Gang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Star (Triptych) in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 361,000.00 (€ 228,408.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Red Tide von Huang Gang wurde im Juni 2014 in der Auktion Boundless: Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 118.750,00 (€ 11.189,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Huang Gang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Star (Triptych) im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 361.000,00 (€ 228.408,73).
