This artwork by Hu Xigui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in March last year. In the The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale auction, the work Lady with Plum Blossoms, 1879 sold for USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,022.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hu Xigui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 56,067.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hu Xigui erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale wurde die Arbeit Lady with Plum Blossoms, 1879 für USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.022,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hu Xigui erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 56.067,00).
