Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale, which included the work Ink Landscape, 1881 by Hu Xigui. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,379.25). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hu Xigui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 56,067.00).
