This artwork by Hu Xigui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Flowers sold for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,804.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hu Xigui have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 56,067.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hu Xigui erzielte im März 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Flowers für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.804,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hu Xigui auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 56.067,00).
