A top price for Hou Chun-Ming - as previously expected
The work God Rod by Hou Chun-Ming was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. The price achieved of HKD 787,500.00 (€ 64,832.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 500,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, God Rod is the most expensive artwork by Hou Chun-Ming that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit God Rod von Hou Chun-Ming wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 787.500,00 (€ 64.832,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 500.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist God Rod das teuerste Kunstwerk von Hou Chun-Ming, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
