Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Horace Bristol could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Torpedo Planes in Formation; and Rescued Airmen Smoking changed hands for USD 2,115.00 (€ 2,383.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horace Bristol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work PBY Blister Gunner, Rescue at Rabaul, 1944 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Horace Bristol konnte im April 2001 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Torpedo Planes in Formation; and Rescued Airmen Smoking für USD 2.115,00 (€ 2.383,37) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horace Bristol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit PBY Blister Gunner, Rescue at Rabaul, 1944 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 25.755,49).
