Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Long March In Panjiayuan A by Hong Hao was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,101.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hong Hao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Money Front in October 2007 with an auction result of HKD 727,500.00 (€ 64,865.57).
