Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections, which included this untitled work by Hisao Dōmoto. The result of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,216.90) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hisao Dōmoto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 750,000.00 (€ 86,686.12).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Hisao Dōmoto zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.216,90) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hisao Dōmoto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 750.000,00 (€ 86.686,12) versteigert wurde.
