A top price for Hisao Dōmoto - as previously expected
This work without title by Hisao Dōmoto was sold in the Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. The auction ended at the price of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 86,686.12), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 550,000.00 – 750,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Hisao Dōmoto that we have observed at auctions so far.

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Hisao Dōmoto wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 86.686,12) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 550.000,00 – 750.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Hisao Dōmoto, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
