Solley auction at Christies in New York in February 2007. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,400.00 (€ 8,616.78), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hiro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Apollo - 11, 9:32 A. M. 7-16-69 Maiden Voyage To The Moon' in April last year with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 59,789.31).

Die Arbeit Akiko on the Black Lava of Hawaii, 1965; Donna Mitchell, Harper's Bazaar, 1968; and Tilly Tizzani with Blue Scarf, 1963 von Hiro wurde im Februar 2007 in der Auktion Photographs From The Estate of Thomas T. Solley bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.400,00 (€ 8.616,78) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hiro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Apollo - 11, 9:32 A. M. 7-16-69 Maiden Voyage To The Moon' im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 59.789,31).
