Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hiratsuka Un'Ichi could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART auction, the work Peacock changed hands for USD 352.50 (€ 391.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Hiratsuka Un'Ichi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kokubunji no ipponmatsu, Tokyo (One pine tree in Kokubunji, Tokyo), 1960 Todaiji kodo ato (Remains of Kodo lecture hall, Todaiji), 1960 Koizumi Yakumo kyukyo, Matsue (Former home of Koizumi Yakumo [Lafcadio Hearn, Matsue), 1948 Suriagete (Carving|AID531200] in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,5
