Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Girl On Sic Chinese Cotton Dress, 1942 by Hiratsuka Un'Ichi for USD 780.00 (€ 601.43). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hiratsuka Un'Ichi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kokubunji no ipponmatsu, Tokyo (One pine tree in Kokubunji, Tokyo), 1960 Todaiji kodo ato (Remains of Kodo lecture hall, Todaiji), 1960 Koizumi Yakumo kyukyo, Matsue (Former home of Koizumi Yakumo [Lafcadio Hearn, Matsue), 1948 Suriagete (Carving|AID531200], which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,592.3
